Club Donations to District 14-R Charities

In order to better enable the District Governor and the Cabinet Treasurer to keep accurate records of all donations by Lions, Lioness and Leo Clubs to their favorite charities, Club Treasurers should comply with the following payment procedures. These methods are listed in the District's order of preference, but clubs may choose the method they decide is most appropriate for them:

A. Make your club check payable to "District 14-R Charities" and mail it to the Cabinet Treasurer. On the 'memo' line of your check (or on a separate sheet), note the specific charity (or charities) to which you are donating. If you are giving to more than one charity, include a breakdown of the specific amounts to be given to each charity. Your club will then receive a receipt from the Cabinet Treasurer for those donations.
B. Make separate checks payable to each charity, and mail directly to them. Send the Cabinet Treasurer a copy of the check and the cover letter to each charity, showing the organization's name and the total amount you contributed. You must use this method for charities not listed under District 14-R committees or community projects.

Note: Donations made to LCIF to be used as payment for a Melvin Jones Fellowship Award must use Method "B". Donations made to LCIF that are not earmarked for any particular purpose (a general donation) should use method "A".

Please make all year-end donations at least two weeks prior to the 4th Cabinet Meeting in order to allow the Cabinet Treasurer time to make the year-end report.

Dollar amounts must be listed on the club's Activities Report to receive credit in the District Governor's annual Point Contest.

By adhering to these instructions, your club will earn the proper credit in the Point Contest, and the Cabinet Treasurer can credit your donations against the correct account(s).
