District 14-R, Pennsylvania
Lions Clubs International
2011 DISTRICT CONVENTION
April 8-9, 2011
The Inn at Towamencin, Kulpsville, PA

Dear Club Secretary,

Our 2011 District 14-R Convention is rapidly approaching, and we will be accommodating the "Brag Board" displays as we have done in the past. Every club is invited to set up a display to show others what they have done over the years.

In order to better inform our members of what is being done on a District-wide basis, we are urging each District committee to prepare a display for the exhibit area. And again, we are encouraging pin trading. Pin traders will have space provided for them in the exhibit area also.

The exhibit area will be open for viewing from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM. Setup is from 8:30 to 9.00 AM. All displays must be dismantled and out of the exhibit room by 4:15 PM. As in prior years, companies and organizations in the area who manufacture or distribute products or provide services used by Lions worldwide in their pursuit of cures for blindness, hearing problems, diabetes, etc., are being asked to present displays of their products or services. If you are aware of any company that should be invited to participate, please contact the convention committee.

We are also repeating the used eyeglass collection competition. Prizes will be awarded to the clubs bringing in the most eyeglasses. Please note that all eyeglasses must be deposited on Saturday morning from 8:00 AM to 12:00 NOON, and should be packed in sealed cartons with both the count and club name clearly marked on the outside. Eyeglasses that have been donated directly to other organizations (benefiting the visually impaired) since last year's Convention will be counted upon presentation of a receipt from that organization acknowledging the number of pairs donated.

Cash awards are: $50.00 for first place, $35.00 for second, and $20.00 for the third place. There will also be a drawing for a $20.00 award to one of the remaining clubs who participated.

All clubs and committees planning to have displays should notify me (at the address below), or call me so that space can be reserved for them. Let's all do our share to make this the best convention ever!

Yours in Lionism,
